Sport

We place great emphasis on mental health. According to Young Minds (www.youngminds.org.uk). One in six children aged 5 to 16 were identified as having a probable mental health problem in July 2021. That’s five children in every classroom.

All of our students have access to a state-of-the-art gym that can be used during the school day and also outside of school hours. This includes swimming where lessons can be organised for less confident swimmers. Fitness sessions help build self-confidence and encourage students to set and reach goals. This boosts their self-esteem and helps them feel proud of their accomplishments.

When the weather allows, we take our students to the local park to play a variety of sports including football, cricket, badminton, volleyball and rounders. We also have indoor activities available to students including pool, table tennis and interactive darts.

In the afternoon and social times, students can use our gaming centre which includes 8 Xbox stations and retro style video games. This gaming time acts as a reward for their hard work as well as another opportunity for social interactions and participate in EA sports.
