Revision Room

 

We are well aware of the pressures faced by Year 11 and Year 13 students during exam time. A great method of coping with these pressures is by taking part in group revision sessions.

Group revision sessions have lots of benefits, such as:

• making revision more interesting

• improving understanding and memory recall by learning from others

• allowing peers to test each other

• increasing motivation through accountability

 

Here at the Training and Skills Academy we have a room available for hire Monday to Thursday (after 3.30pm), all day on weekends and all day everyday during the school holidays. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to grab your mates and your books to revise in your own personal space - together.

 

You will have access to:

 

a laptop that connects to a 40 inch TV

WiFi

Whiteboards with board pens

Pool table (that can convert into a table tennis table)

Darts

 

Rooms are bookable for two hours at a time. How you spend your time is your choice, but with over 18 years experience in secondary education we advise a 45 minute revision blast, followed by a 15 minute break then another 30 minutes of solid revision. This should be on one subject only. During your 15 minute break give your brain a rest. Shoot some pool or play some darts, but remember to have a break, this also means a break from technology!
