Revision Rooms for Hire - (Year 11 and Sixth Form only)

As the summer examination series fast approaches we are well aware of the pressures faced by Year 11 and Year 13 students. A great method of coping with these pressures is by taking part in group revision sessions. Group revision sessions have lots of benefits, such as:

  • making revision more interesting

  • improving understanding and memory recall by learning from others

  • allowing peers to test each other

  • increases motivation through accountability

Here at the Training and Skills Academy we have two rooms available for hire Monday to Friday (after 3.30pm), all day on weekends and all day everyday during the school holidays. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to grab your mates and your books to revise in your own personal space - together. 

  

Room 1 - Ground Floor (max. 8 students)

Room 2 - First Floor - (max. 8 students)

In both rooms you will have access to:

​

  • a laptop that connects to a TV on a stand so you can move to where needed.

  • WiFi

  • Whiteboards with board pens

  • Pool table (that can convert into a table tennis table)

​

Room 1 also has an interactive dartboard and air hockey table.

​

Rooms are bookable for two hours at a time. How you spend your time is your choice, but with over 18 years experience in secondary education we advise a 45 minute revision blast, followed by a 15 minute break then another 30 minutes of solid revision. This should be on one subject only.  During your 15 minute break give your brain a rest. Shoot some pool or play some darts, but remember to have a break, this also means a break from technology! â€‹â€‹

We have a kitchen with access to a fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster and there are two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs. Please feel free to bring your own refreshments or order a take away.  We are just a short walk away from cafes and bakeries along the front street so there are plenty of options for catering.​There is  a large car park to the rear of our building (chargeable at 40p per hour).​​
